A special school has come up with rock painting using art supplies donated by building developers at Barking Riverside.

A selection of stones was given to Riverside Bridge School by Bellway developers together with paints, brushes, foam brushes and palettes.

The company’s sales advisor, Susan Wilkinson, visited the school in Fielders Quarter, which has 210 pupils between four and 18 with complex educational needs, to deliver the supplies and meet the children for a rock painting session.

Eight pupils decorated the stones in bright colours and textures to take home as a memento.

Bellway’s sales boss Dominic Griffiths said: “The pupils produced eye-catching works of art. This comes after we bought children at the neighbouring Riverside Secondary some gingerbread houses to decorate as a Christmas treat.”

The two schools in Fielders Quarter are part of the Barking Riverside masterplan for a community with 2,300 new homes being built over the next four years.
