As a major fire remains ongoing at an industrial estate in Rainham, we have summarised everything we know so far.
The fire was first reported to the London Fire Brigade's 999 control centre at 1.11pm today (June 20).
An estimated 125 firefighters were dispatched to Ferry Lane in 20 fire engines from stations across east London.
Crews present at the scene include those from Barking, East Ham, Wennington, and Dagenham fire stations, with Kent and Essex fire and rescue services helping out.
In its latest update, LFB has confirmed the scale of the blaze, with one warehouse containing multiple industrial units on fire.
The initial size of the fire encompassed two units.
A 25-metre cordon has been erected by emergency responders as a safety precaution.
Warnings have been released by the fire brigade on its social media pages and website to request that people in the surrounding areas keep their doors and windows shut.
The warehouse fire has produced a huge plume of black smoke, which has been billowing up into the skyline for hours.
A video taken by Luke Marshall close to the scene of the fire has shown huge flames rising from the warehouses, kicking out black soot clouds.
Social media users in surrounding areas, including Barking, Dagenham and Canary Wharf, have also shared images of the smoke clouds.
No injuries have been reported as yet, but the London Fire Brigade has warned they expect to be at the scene for "several hours to come".
They are, however, said to be making progress in their efforts to extinguish the fire.
