A nursery in Hornchurch has been recognised in national awards for its impact on the lives of young learners.
Scallywags Nursery was named as a finalist at the National Day Nursery Association Awards for Nursery Training and Development 2024.
Owner Emma Reynolds and managers Becky McGowan and Demi Eastment were praised for their commitment and tireless efforts in developing a nurturing learning environment.
The nursery team has applied a holistic approach to child development, focusing not only on academic but also on emotional, social, and physical growth.
They also have space for children to learn about nature and the environment in their Forest School.
Scallywags Nursery's emphasis is on providing the right care and attention tailored to each individual child and it said this was also a factor in their place in the final.
But its work isn't confined to its own nursery.
The management trio has supported other nurseries in their neighbourhood with training and development initiatives.
They have been sharing resources, expertise and best practices, demonstrating their dedication to the broader community of educators and care providers.
Scallywags Nursery said it was an "honour" to be one of the top three finalists.
The nursery team said on a Facebook post: "We're still buzzing with excitement from our incredible experience at the NDNA - National Day Nurseries Association Awards 2024.
"It was an honour to be among the top three finalists in the UK for the training and development of our team.
"We couldn't be prouder of our amazing team and setting, who always go above and beyond to enhance their skills and knowledge for the benefit of our little ones during their crucial early years."
They added: "The dedication, passion, and commitment displayed by our teams every single day is what truly makes us shine.
"Here's to continuous growth, learning, and providing the best possible care for our children."
