A free fair with strawberries, sports activities and a Punch and Judy show returned to Brentwood last weekend.

Brentwood Borough Council’s annual Strawberry Fair was back with a sporting twist at King George’s Playing Fields on June 9.

The Strawberry Sports Festival, a community event aimed at families, saw thousands of people enjoying a huge range of activities.

Performances by Razzamataz Theatre School and Stagecoach Performing Arts Brentwood wowed the crowds, with both also putting on dance workshops.

Festival-goers could also take part in the free sports activities and exciting rides.

The classic Punch and Judy show was also performed for the younger guests.

There were lots of food and drinks options available, including the must-have strawberries, Pimms and local beer.

Councillor Mark Haigh, Mayor of Brentwood, arrived in style, brought to the festival by Bennetts Funerals' horse and carriage.

Cllr Haigh said: "It was great to see so many families smiling and having fun trying out some sports they may not have done before.

"Community events like these are what make living in our borough special and I would like to thank all the sports and community organisations, along with our sponsors – who helped make the event happen and so successful."
