A BBC film crew was seen shooting a segment in Romford on how the town tackles crime against retailers.
The filming on Friday, May 10 was for the Morning Live show and featured presenter Rav Wilding as he explored the work done by Romford’s private local bobbies, according to Romford Business Improvement District (BID).
The BID hired the bobbies and paid for them in a bid to reduce crime in the town centre.
The filming locations included Market Place, South Street and the Brewery shopping centre.
A spokesperson for Romford BID said the crew spent the day following the team from My Local Bobby, both uniformed and undercover, to see them at work.

“With reports nationally that workers in retail outlets have become targets for abuse, including verbal harassment, threats with weapons and physical assault not to mention increases in crime and anti-social behaviour, they (the crew) wanted to find out how successful Romford has been in battling the wave of crime threatening its retailers”, they added.
While the bobbies were being filmed, the spokesperson said they witnessed a shoplifter in action who was detained by them and then arrested by the police. The goods stolen were also reportedly recovered by the team.
The crew next spoke to some store managers and staff about the positive impact of having My Local Bobby in Romford, the spokesperson added.
Julie Frost, Romford BID director, said: “It was great to spend the day with the team from Morning Live and to see firsthand the positive impact that My Local Bobby are making in Romford.
“This is all part of working together with other town centre stakeholders and the great partnership working of MLB, the town centre police teams, Havering enforcement and the shopping centres. We are looking forward to seeing the final cut."
The Romford filming was featured on Morning Live on Thursday, May 16.
The show typically airs daily on BBC One at 9.30am and the BBC website says the show is "for conversation, advice and tips to make your day that little bit easier". It is also available on BBC iPlayer.
