Several cars have been destroyed after a fire on an industrial estate in Rainham.
Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters responded to 15 emergency calls about the fire in New Road just after 12.30am this morning (May 15).
The blaze had spread to a number of industrial units, including a vehicle repair workshop.
Pictures from the scene showed at least two cars completely destroyed by the flames.
Firefighters had brought the blaze under control shortly before 2am, but remained at the industrial estate throughout the early morning.
A road closure was put in place in New Road near the junction with Marsh Way while firefighters worked at the scene, with people advised to avoid the area.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
Crews from Ilford, Wennington, Barking, Hornchurch and surrounding fire stations all attended the scene.
