Hotel chain Hilton is set to open a new hotel in Romford town centre later this month.
The chain's Spark by Hilton brand is set to replace the former Ibis Styles hotel in South Street, according to Hilton’s website.
The hotel giant lists 61 Spark hotels worldwide on its site, with 60 in the United States and Romford set to be the first in the UK.
The hotel is not said to be accepting reservations but the website says it is planned to launch in May.
The website says the hotel will serve cocktails and light bites at the on-site bar and will have free breakfast among the amenities.

The rooms will be smoke-free, it adds, and no pets will be allowed except service support animals.
Describing the Spark brand on its website, Hilton says: "High-quality stays should be available to every travel budget – so we deliver exceptional essentials at a budget-friendly price."
The Accor group, which owns the Ibis Styles chain, has now removed the Romford hotel from its portfolio and the hotel’s website has been taken down.
Commenting on the news of Hilton’s opening, Romford councillor David Taylor, of St Edwards Ward, said: "The news that Hilton are set to open in Romford is exciting. Romford is a great place to stay if heading into London and the Hilton will be perfectly placed next to the station.
“It is also a boost to our town, to have such a prominent brand investing into the area.
“I hope that those coming to stay will check out our historic market, fantastic cafes, and beautiful green parks."
The Recorder has contacted the Accor group and Hilton for a statement on their properties opening and closing in Romford.
