An investigation has been launched by Metropolitan Police into a racist incident that happened in Romford.
A video clip shared on social media by Redbridge Community Action Group appeared to show a man hurling racial abuses towards some women in Romford’s South Street on Saturday (April 20) at around 4.50pm.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson revealed that they are treating the “appalling” incident as a hate crime and officers will be speaking to the victims later.
He said: “We are aware and urgently investigating this appalling and clearly unacceptable incident that happened in South Street Romford on Saturday, 20 April around 4.50pm.
“We will be speaking to the victims later. This is being treated as a hate crime.
“Anyone with information please call 101, quoting CAD 5105/20APR24”.
