The first pictures from the scene of a major church hall fire have been released and it is now under police investigation.
Billowing smoke from the disused building in St Andrews Road, Romford, can be seen in the photos provided by the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
The church hall, close to St Andrews CoFE Parish Church, suffered a blaze which the LFB was alerted to at 12.30am today (April 11).
Heavy smoke, seen below, resulted in LFB telling people nearby to keep their windows and doors shut.

The LFB tackled the blaze from above using one of its 32-metre ladders.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the brigade and the Metropolitan Police, LFB said.
