An arrest has been made after alleged fighting near a working men's club left a man with head injuries and needing hospital treatment.
Police were called at 4.50pm on Saturday (April 6) to reports of two men fighting in Upminster Road South in Rainham.
A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) after another man, 41, was found with a head injury.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police believe the two men knew each other.

The arrested man was later sectioned under the Mental Health Act having also been taken to hospital, police said.
The London Ambulance Service confirmed yesterday (April 8) that a man had been taken to hospital.
It had been called at 4.56pm to the same location to reports of an assault.
We approached Rainham Working Men's Club, near where the assault was said to have taken place, but a staff member said she was not aware of the incident.
