The Upminster branch of a global pizza chain is set to shut down in the coming weeks.
Papa John’s in Corbets Tey Road is on the list of potential closures released by the brand today (March 26), along with 15 other sites in London and 42 across the UK.
The Upminster outlet, Papa John's said, is “underperforming” and "no longer financially viable" according to a review carried out by the company at the start of 2024.

The site will close by mid-May following a consultation process, it added.
Managing director at Papa John’s UK, Chris Phylactou, said that its priority is the team members who will be “fully supported” during the process, with the company attempting to find redeployment opportunities where available.
He said: “We understand the impact this will have on our team members and are committed to supporting them during this time.”
