A man has admitted murdering his partner who died 13 years after he assaulted her.
Carolyn Kemp was 34 when Trevor Baker attacked her in Walmer Close, Romford, in November 2009.
She was left with a permanent brain injury and died in September 2022.
A post-mortem found a causal link between the brain trauma she suffered and her death.
Baker pleaded guilty to attempted murder in 2010 and was handed an indeterminate sentence with a minimum term of eight years.
In December 2023 he was charged with Carolyn’s murder and on Friday (March 22) he appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from Warren Hill prison in Suffolk.
The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to murder and Judge Sarah Munro KC warned he faced a mandatory life sentence with a minimum term to be fixed at a hearing on May 16.
Members of Carolyn’s family wiped away tears before Baker was further remanded into custody.
