A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and assaulting a police officer after an incident at a store in Upminster.
The Met Police were called to a shop in Station Road at around 6.30pm on Monday (March 11) to reports of a “disturbance”.
Upminster Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), Hacton SNT and Emergency Response and Patrol Team (ERPT) officers attended but a group of people had left when they arrived.

Officers conducted a search of the area and located them nearby.
A Met Police spokesperson said they arrested one person from the group on suspicion of theft, assaulting one of the police officers and other offences.
