A huge fire at a police station is not being treated as suspicious, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Dan Card, acting borough commander for Newham and Waltham Forest, spoke outside Forest Gate Police Station last night (March 6).
The entire roof of the police station was ablaze and almost 200 firefighters tackled it into the night, before it was brought under control just after 11pm.

London Fire Brigade crews were first called to the fire just after 4.15pm that day, with 30 fire engines and 175 firefighters at the scene.
Supt Card said: "I'm glad to report the building was evacuated promptly and no-one has been reported injured.
"The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious at this stage."

Romford Road A118 remains closed both ways between A114 Woodgrange Road and B108 Katherine Road, with police telling the Recorder the closure is likely to remain in place all day.
