More than 100 firefighters are tackling a fire at a police station in Newham that has filled the air with thick black smoke.
London Fire Brigade were called at 4.17pm after Forest Gate Police Station in Romford Road was found to have caught alight.

Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters from Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow and surrounding fire stations are currently at the scene.
Part of the police station, including its mansard roof, is alight.

The brigade has urged people in the local area to keep their windows and doors closed as the fire is producing large amounts of smoke.
Road closures are in place and the force has advised people to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
