A Romford takeaway has shut temporarily after it was given a zero food hygiene rating by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Student Biryani, in London Road, was visited by food inspectors on February 7 and was found to require major improvements in its overall food safety and hygiene.
It got the lowest rating in all three major categories - hygienic handling of food including preparation and storage, cleanliness and condition of facilities to enable good food hygiene and management of food safety by putting in place checks to ensure food served is safe to eat.

It was earlier named Rice N Spice and is believed to have rebranded as Student Biryani.
Rice N Spice, according to an inspection on September 22 last year, had also received a low food hygiene rating.
The rating is not a guide to food quality.
The Recorder contacted the eatery for a response, and a spokesperson said the outlet is currently undergoing building works to fix the issues raised by food inspectors.
The business has been given until March 13 to resolve these, they said, when the next inspection is due to take place.
They added: “We will open again after March 13, and we are currently doing works."
