A former Romford Wetherspoon pub has been let to a mystery tenant, and building work has reportedly been taking place inside.
The World's Inn on South Street closed in April as part of the chain's move to sell of let dozens of pubs up and down the country.
The Recorder reported in October that the building was 'under offer'.
"It's under offer but we need to exchange and then get the landlord's consent," a Wetherspoons spokesperson confirmed on October 19.
And a spokesman for JD Wetherspoon confirmed today (February 29) that a let had been agreed.
The Recorder understands workmen have been inside over the last week.
Lettings agent Savills also confirmed the pub had been let, and though the building remains closed, the site has reportedly been receiving van deliveries.

The advertised rent had been £120,000, the Savills listing showed.
The World's Inn contains an outside beer terrace and is close to Slug & Lettuce, Yates and now shut nightclub ATIK.
An existing premises licence allows the sale of alcohol until 12am from Sunday to Wednesday, until 1am on Thursday and 2am on Friday and Saturday, Savills added.
