Forensic officers have arrived at Harold Wood station as they collect evidence for an investigation into an alleged murder in the early hours of this morning (February 27)
The station has been taped off by police, with a tent set up by the officers outside.
The station was shut after a TfL staff member saw a man badly hurt and lying on the floor after 4.30 am today.
A murder probe has been launched and British Transport Police said the station is expected to remain shut until the day end.
The victim suffered extensive injuries in the ‘unprovoked’ attack and died at the scene, despite the best efforts by emergency services.

A man has been arrested by police and remains in custody, but forensic officers continue to comb the area.
London Ambulance Service were called to the incident at 4.29am and the first medic arrived within five minutes of the call.
A spokesperson said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
MP Julia Lopez commented that she is deeply concerned by the incident and said: "I have just spoken to Neighbourhood Superintendent for Havering, Simon Hutchison. A suspect is in custody and police believe this to be an isolated incident."
Havering Council added that it was saddened by the news and would share a statement after more details come forth from the investigation.
