A food retailer in Romford town centre has received another low hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Romford Fish in South Street was visited by inspectors on January 16 and was rated ‘one out of five’ indicating that the outlet still needs improvements overall.
It had been given the lowest rating - zero - after a previous inspection in June 2022.

The latest inspection found that the hygiene standards at the retailer were ‘generally satisfactory’ on two fronts - hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of facilities.
But inspectors noted that its management of food safety, which includes having systems and checks in place to ensure the food sold is safe to eat, was still in need of major improvement.
The FSA says on its website that their ratings are not a guide to food quality.
The Recorder has contacted Romford Fish for comment.
