A motorist has been convicted of causing death by dangerous driving after a man was killed crossing the road.
Seamus Reilly, 30, of Elizabeth Road in Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood, was convicted at Basildon Crown Court on Monday (February 5).
A pedestrian, 35, from Chelmsford, was involved in the crash with Reilly's Mini Cooper in Ongar Road in Brentwood on July 3, 2021.
"Sadly, the victim later died in hospital on July 13," Essex Police said.
A spokesperson for the force said Reilly was arrested less than two hours after the fatal crash.
