A probe, led by Met Police’s East Area CID, has been launched but no arrests have been made yet.
The shopping centre was closed while officers dealt with the incident but has since reopened.
An eyewitness told the Recorder that the shopping centre was taped off by police.
She said: “By the time I got out of Primark and into the Liberty, police and security were there too, near the toilet, walking and searching around by Starbucks, Pandora, Moss Bros, etc.”
Met Police has urged anyone with information or footage from the incident to contact them on 101 quoting reference 4163/03dec.
