A hotel in Romford is up for sale on a property website, but Travelodge has said it will continue to operate from there.
The hotel premises in Market Place was found listed on Rightmove, with the advert suggesting that Travelodge has an unexpired lease for another 18.9 years on the 65-bedroom hotel.
A marketing brochure on the Rightmove website revealed that their current lease is effective until July 25 in 2042, with the chain paying £443,800 per year in rent.
It is being advertised for offers more than £6,250,000 for the leasehold interest (998 years remaining).
Councillor David Taylor, of St Edwards ward, shared details from the brochure on social media and said: “It looks like there is a long lease with Travelodge, so we should see it remain as a hotel for the near future.

“However, I'll keep a close eye on this development and keep you updated.”
A spokesperson for Travelodge told the Recorder that the hotel will continue to operate as normal, and the sale only pertains to a change in the property’s ownership.
A London-based agency, GLPG, that is managing the purchase, confirmed that the building is still available for sale.
The Recorder has also reached out to the current landlords for a statement.
The hotel had opened in 2017 on top of the Quadrant shopping centre.
