Havering Council has announced details of Remembrance weekend commemorations across the borough.

An Armisitice Day service will take place next Saturday (November 11) with other Remembrance events held on Sunday (November 12).

Stephanie Nunn, Mayor of Havering, said: “We are proud to stand as a community to mark this significant occasion each November which highlights the continued bravery and sacrifices of our armed forces.

“It gives the borough a chance to remember our servicemen and women from Britain and the Commonwealth, who gave so much in order to keep us safe," she added.

An Armistice Day service begins at 10.45am in Market Place, Romford, on Saturday.

The following day, outside The Liberty shopping centre in Western Road, a parade will start at 10.45am. A service will follow in Coronation Gardens.

In Upminster, a 10.40am parade will be followed by a service at the War Memorial in Corbets Tey Road.

Hornchurch has a parade at 10.15am and a service after that at St. Andrew's Church.

Services will begin in Harold Hill at 11am at the War Memorial in Hilldene Avenue and at the same time in Harold Wood at the New War Memorial in Arundel Road.

A second Harold Wood service starts at 10.50am at Memorial Hall, with a parade to St. Peter's Church.

In Rainham, a service begins at 10.30am at Rainham War Memorial.

Elm Park will have a parade from 10.50am at Royal British Legion, followed by a service at St Nicholas Church.
