A man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a fatal multi-vehicle crash on the A13 near Rainham has been bailed.
Police were called to the A13 near the junction with Ferry Lane, Rainham, at around 5.30am on Sunday (October 29).
There had been reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles on the major road, after which a man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had been working to inform the man's next of kin.
A man in his 30s has been released on bail having been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, police confirmed today (October 31).
There were no other reports of serious injuries following the crash.
