A man has died and another man has been arrested after a multi-vehicle crash on a dual carriageway.
Police were called to the A13 near to the junction with Ferry Lane, Rainham at around 5.50am this morning (October 29).
There had been reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles on the dual carriageway.
A man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are currently working to inform his next of kin.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody.
A police spokesperson said that there were no other reports of serious injuries after the crash.
Road closures remain in place around the scene and police enquiries into the circumstances continue.
