A Hornchurch fish and chip shop has been praised as "simply the best" after winning an award set up by The Recorder.

Hacton Lane Fish Bar in Hacton Parade, Central Drive, Hornchurch, won our "Your Favourites 2023" award after we asked readers to choose their favourite fish and chip shop in Havering.

Manager Sahin Cetin, 47, was the proud recipient of this year's Best Chip Shop award, and his establishment has been praised by many customers.

One such was Dara Stringer who said: "Couldn't agree more - congratulations."

Sahin, who has over 25 years’ experience, runs Hacton Lane Fish Bar with his family, including brothers Dogan, 44, and Halil, 42.

The team took the chance to thank its loyal customers after receiving the award.

“It hasn’t been easy bringing this business to a high standard but it has been worth the effort and time we have dedicated over the years,” they said.

This sentiment was appreciated by another customer, Sarah Pittaway, who added: “Well deserved – always fantastic from here.”
