We asked Recorder readers to choose their favourite fish and chip shop in Havering and the results are in.

Our award, "Your Favourites 2023", celebrates the best local businesses and Hacton Lane Fish Bar in Hacton Parade, Central Drive, Hornchurch, was the recipient of Best Chip Shop.

Manager Sahin Cetin, 47, who has more than 25 years experience, said his family-run fish bar has always tried its best to serve the community.

Sahin's business, including brothers Dogan, 44, and Halil, 42, has taken the opportunity to thank its loyal customers.

The Hacton Lane team said: "We want to first of all say a huge thank you to our customers for their continued support. 

"We feel truly blessed for their loyalty and trust in our business and [we are] eternally grateful."
