A supermarket outlet has moved a step closer to opening in Romford town centre.
An Asda Express looks set to come to South Street, Romford, after Havering Council approved plans to install signs inside and outside the store, which formerly operated as a Co-op.
Asda has proposed to erect signs including "ASDA Express" lettering and one reading "Your local store".
The application, A0027.23, was approved on Wednesday (October 18).
It was received by the council on June 16 this year and validated five days later (June 21).

Whittam Cox Architects is the agent supporting the application at the ground floor of a four-storey commercial block.
The plans also include two internally lit and 11 non-illuminated signs.
In the council's design notice, the local authority specified that lit signs must fall within regulations to avoid impairing the visual environment.
