A driver was injured after his car overturned when it hit two garden walls.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 2.06pm yesterday (October 2) to reports of an overturned car in Burnway, Hornchurch.
London Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and a medic in a fast-response car to the scene.
London Fire Brigade also attended the incident.
Medics assessed four people for injuries on site, one of whom was rushed to hospital.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the injured person was believed to be the driver of the car. He added his injuries were assessed as “not life-threatening or life-changing”.
No arrests have been made.
A passer by, Deborah Saunders, told the Recorder that there were “multiple police cars, ambulances and rapid response teams” at the location.
She said: “The traffic was still flowing on Billet Lane in Hornchurch but nothing could go down Burnway as it was blocked”.
She added that the incident worried her because there were school children coming out at the time.
She said: “With such a massive emergency response, it looked like something major had happened”.
The road has since reopened.
