A popular park in London has been cordoned off by police following reports of a suspicious item.
Officers were called to St James Park in Horseguard Road at just after 9.20am today (September 14).
The area has been cordoned off to the public while specialists remain at the scene examining the potential item.We have contacted Metropolitan Police for further information.
Westminster MPS (@MPSWestminster) tweeted: “Police were called at 09:21hrs to reports of a potentially suspicious item found at St James Park, Horseguard Road.
“Safety cordons and closures have been established while specialist officers examine the item.
“Officers remain on scene. We thank the public for their patience.”
