Dozens of vehicles were stopped in a residential area as part of a crime operation.
A team of officers completed a motor vehicle crime operation on Straight Road in Harold Hill today (September 12), East Area Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Around 30 vehicles were stopped and 12 traffic offence reports were completed, a police spokesperson added.

Harold Hill is within the police ward of Heaton and vehicle crime is the third most common offence, according to the Met's most recent statistics.
There were 28 reported instances of vehicle crime in July 2023, compared to 21 shoplifting offences.
Violence and sexual offences scored highest at 64, followed by 46 anti-social behaviour reports.
There was an overall decrease from 242 crimes in June to 218 in July.
