A gym has announced its opening date with the belief it will "bring a younger crowd" to a town centre.
Anytime Fitness is set to open on Station Road in Upminster on September 29, its manager Glen Clancy confirmed today (September 11).
Glen, 33, said the gym, formerly retailer M&Co, will have an opening event at around 12pm on September 29, which will be attended by Gillian Ford, deputy leader of Havering Council.
"We understand that in this current climate it is difficult to even get yourself out and train," Glen said. "But we're reasonably priced and we think there's going to be a massive benefit [to the area]."

Glen said his gym, estimated to have 450 to 500 members, has received positive feedback.
"We've had a lot of comments so far about the high street dying," he said. "We feel we're going to bring a younger crowd to the high street."
Anytime Fitness in Upminster will operate under the same commercial name as its other branches, including one in Hornchurch, but belongs to a different holding company.
