A Conservative group has announced its parliamentary candidate for the next general election.
Dagenham and Rainham Conservative Association today (September 5) announced they had selected Sam Holland to stand for the constituency in the next general election, which is due by Janurary 2025.
Born in Dagenham and the son of a family of Ford factory workers, Mr Holland, who attended Brittons Academy in Rainham, is well placed to serve local people, the association said.
He has also served as a town councillor in Bicester for the North Oxfordshire Conservatives.
“It is the honour of my life to be selected as the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for where I was born and brought up," Mr Holland said.
Matej Travnicek, association chairman, added: "Sam knows our community better than most having been born, raised, educated and worked here."
The Dagenham and Rainham seat is currently held by Labour MP John Cruddas, who has announced he plans to step down at the next general election.
