A man and a woman have appeared in court after being charged in connection with the death of a baby found in Harold Hill.
Police confirmed today (August 27) that Ahmed Mahad, 35, of no fixed address, and Dawn-Marie Huxtable, 36, of Mimosa Close in Harold Hill appeared in court.
They were due to appear at magistrates’ court on August 25 and police added that they are waiting for details of their next court appearance.
The pair were charged with concealing the birth of a child under Section 60 of the Offences Against the Person Act.
It comes after police found a baby's body at a residential address in Mimosa Close, Harold Hill on Tuesday (August 22).

On Wednesday (August 23), police confirmed the dead baby was a newborn girl.
Police said its enquiries continue and they ask anyone with information which could assist their investigation to contact police quoting CAD 6024/23Aug, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
