Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a baby was found dead in Harold Hill.
Metropolitan Police were called at 7.40pm on yesterday (August 22) to an address in Mimosa Close after reports for concerns of the welfare of a baby.
Officers found the body of a baby at the scene.
A spokesperson for the force has told the Recorder that a man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
Both are currently being held in custody.
A crime scene has been put in place and images on social media showed a police cordon behind Straight Road.

Despite the arrests, the spokesperson said that at this time the death is being treated as unexpected and under investigation.
Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
