A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a crash in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called to reports of a broken down car on A13 Newham Way near the Beckton flyover just before 5.45am this morning (August 21).
A second car subsequently crashed into the back of the broken down car.
The driver of the second car was then arrested by police on suspicion of drink driving.
A police spokesperson said that there were no reports of any injuries.
Two lanes of the dual carriageway are still closed eastbound following the crash, causing a traffic jam a mile in length.
