Sometimes a police call out is not quite what it first seems, as officers discovered on Friday evening.
Emergency services were called to Harrow Lodge Park in Hornchurch late on Friday (August 18) evening after a worrying report from a member of the public.
Officers were told that there could be a dismembered body in the park, after a hand was seen floating in the lake.
Thankfully, the incident turned out to be far less sinister than it first appeared.
Officers quickly realised that the severed hand was in fact a marigold washing up glove.
A police spokesperson said that the call out was made in good faith and that no further action has been taken.
