A major road has been shut for hours after a lorry crashed into a bridge near Rainham.
Essex Police were called shortly after 12pm to the A13 at Wennington interchange, where the lorry had struck a bridge.
No injuries have been reported, but an Essex Police spokesperson said that the bridge has been damaged and National Highways has been informed.
A13 is still closed both ways at the interchange and traffic is delayed by more than an hour eastbound, according to the AA.
Some of it is being diverted through entry and exit slip roads.

London Fire Brigade, Met Police and London Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Firefighters from Wennington and Dagenham fire stations were deployed after the brigade was called at 12.08pm.
An LFB spokesperson said: “Crews remained on scene until 12.51pm, when the scene was handed over to the Metropolitan Police Service.”
LAS sent their hazardous area response team, an incident response officer and an ambulance crew.
Since there were no injuries, a spokesperson said they "stood down" soon after.
No arrests have been made so far.
