A woman has been charged following the death of an 11-year-old girl in Shadwell.
Police were called to Nida House in Sutton Street on December 11, 2021.
Fatiha Sabrin, aged 11, was found unresponsive and was taken to an east London hospital where she sadly died later the same day.
Jesmin Akter, 33, of Sutton Street, was charged with manslaughter and importing a regulated substance on Friday (July 28).
She will appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on August 22.
The charge follows an investigation by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.
Fatiha's family have been informed of this development and they continue to be supported by family liaison officers.
