The now annual celebration Back to Hogwarts is on the lookout for a young Harry Potter fan to mark the moment Hogwarts Express departs from King’s Cross Station for the next wizard-school year.
Taking place on September 1, Wizarding World’s Back to Hogwarts is one of the biggest Harry Potter celebrations that marks the moment when wizards and witches board the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 ¾ at 11am for another year of learning mad wizard skills.
Wizards, witches and muggles are invited to dress up in their wizard finest and join in the festivities on the day.
As part of the fun, Wizarding World is on the lookout for an enthusiastic fan, aged between 5 and 17 years-old to lead the Hogwarts Express’ departure countdown.
To enter young wizards and witches can submit a video online (with the help of their parent or guardian) of their best countdown. Entries close on 11.59pm on August 7, 2023.
Even if your child doesn’t get selected to count the train off, Back to Hogwarts at King’s Cross station is essentially a mini Harry Potter fest.
Running September 1 to 3, people can sip on Butterbeer, play Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation, play with LEGO and try their luck with Harry Potter giveaways and photo opportunities.
Also look out for special Harry Potter screenings during Back to Hogwarts timeframe, with Everyman Kings Cross screening all eight films.
