Locals were advised to keep their doors and windows shut after a combined harvester and grassland blaze sent up "heavy smoke".
Fire crews were called to deal with flames near Hainault Country Park, off Romford Road, on Sunday (July 30).
@LondonFire tweeted a dramatic picture of a charred combine harvester.
We've dealt with a fire near Hainault Country Park off Romford Road #Chigwell. A combine harvester & around 3 acres of grassland were alight. Local residents are advised to keep doors & windows shut due to heavy smoke. Motorists are advised to avoid the area due to heavy traffic. pic.twitter.com/YAmaKbzNZT

They said that the harvesting machinery and around three acres of grasslands were alight.
They added: "Local residents are advised to keep doors & windows shut due to heavy smoke. Motorists are advised to avoid the area due to heavy traffic."
