A leisure centre has announced a weekend event will be held to mark the opening of its swimming pool.
Rainham Leisure Centre's swimming pool will open this Saturday (July 29) as part of an event which will run on both days from 10am until 4pm.
There will be free lane and family swimming sessions.
People will be able to use the new 25 metre, six-lane pool in a facility that also offers fitness, casual swimming sessions and lessons.
The centre, built on the site of Rainham Recreation Ground in Viking Way, hosted an open weekend on July 1 which more than 2,000 people attended, according to Everyone Active.
Ray Morgon, Havering Council leader, said: "It’s exciting that the opening of the swimming pool will be the final step in the completion of Rainham Leisure Centre.
“I have been really impressed by the feedback from visitors since the centre opened earlier this month and it’s been great to see so many enjoying the wonderful facilities on offer."

Rainham Leisure Centre is managed by sports provider Everyone Active in partnership with Havering Council.
Tom Fletcher, area contract manager at Everyone Active, said: "We’re delighted to invite the community to come down and experience the facilities.
"With the opening of the swimming pool this weekend, the full site is now open and we couldn’t be more excited."
A children's outside play area, face painters, balloon modellers and stilt walkers will also be on offer as part of this weekend's events, it said.
The leisure centre was developed by ReCreation, founded by Olympians Becky Adlington OBE and Steve Parry MBE.
Former swimmer Adlington won two gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
She said: "Whether as a training ground for the next generation of Olympians, or as a community hub in which to stay physically and mentally in superb health, all of us [...] are thrilled to be developing this new leisure centre."
