London Fire Brigade has said it has established the cause of a fire that damaged the top of an Iceland store in east London.
Firefighters were called to the supermarket in Woodgrange Road in Forest Gate at around 12.03pm yesterday to reports of the fire.
Videos on social media showed thick black smoke erupting from the flames.
A spokesperson for the brigade said that around 200 people fled from the flats above the supermarket before fire crews arrived.

While no injuries were reported, a part of Iceland’s roof was damaged.
Firefighters from Stratford, Leytonstone and Dagenham fire station brought the fire under control by 1.36pm.
The cause of the fire was earlier under investigation, but it is now believed to have been caused by “unsafe disposal of smoking materials”.
The Recorder has reached out to the supermarket for comment but has received no response.
