A woman is fighting for her life in hospital after an incident at King's Cross underground station.

Part of the station was closed yesterday evening (Monday, June 26) as emergency services flooded the area.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the underground station at 8.06pm following reports of a "casualty on the tracks".

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called around the same time to reports of "a person under a train".

Paramedics attended and a woman has been taken to hospital with "life-threatening injuries".

BTP said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

An LAS spokesperson added: "We sent a number of resources to the scene including two ambulance crews, a fast response unit, an incident response officer and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

"We also dispatched London’s air ambulance."
