Children put their best foot forward for a dance show when the mayor visited their school in Dagenham.
Cllr Donna Lumsden, Barking and Dagenham mayor, looked in at Beam County Primary where she is a school governor and was treated to “a captivating dance performance” to mark its academic achievements.
The dance was initially put on at Dagenham Park’s Inspire festival, a choreographed routine by Kerri De Aguiar showing the pupils’ creativity and skill for the art form.
The school in Oval Road North has consistently produced good academic results, the mayor was told.
Ties were presented to pupils who have made outstanding contributions to the school.
The mayor praised the pupils, teachers and parents for “creating an environment that fosters academic and artistic excellence”, expressing confidence in the youngsters becoming successful, well-rounded citizens.
