A charity helping families is now getting a cash gift every time a house is sold or flat is rented out in the Brentwood area by a firm of estate agents.

The Special Needs and Parents centre in Warley, known as Snap, has been snapped up itself by Beresford estate agents as their charity of the year.

The deal means the centre at Pastoral Way gets £10 whenever a property contract is completed by staff at their offices in Brentwood, Shenfield or Ingatestone.

“The work the charity does for families is vital,” Beresfords’ Brentwood manager Stuart Walker said. “It’s thanks to charities like this which require no formal diagnosis or professional referral that make services easily available to those who seek them.”

The charity supports families with special needs or disability youngsters up to 25 who come under Essex County Council or Thurrock and Southend local authorities.

Beresfords is a family-owned independent property group first set up in 1968 as a small practice in Upminster which has expanded into sales, lettings, new homes, land purchase and mortgages.
