The driver of a vehicle involved in a collision in Shadwell that left two women in hospital fled the scene, police have said.
Officers were called this morning (May 30) to The Highway (A1203) at about 3.30am to reports of a collision involving two vehicles.
Two women, who were the occupants of one of the vehicles, were taken to hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
Police have confirmed that the second vehicle did not stop at the scene, and that enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.
Road closures are in place between Glamis Road and Brodlove Lane, which caused queues into Limehouse Link Tunnel earlier this morning.
