A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a person allegedly pointed a gun at cars in Rainham.
Police received reports on Monday (May 15) of a gun having been seen at Mungo Park Road in Rainham.
The incident allegedly took place on Saturday (May 13) at around 4pm.
The officers found a male allegedly pointing a gun at passing cars in CCTV footage they examined.
There has been no injuries or damage caused, a Met Police spokesperson said.
The boy was taken to an east London police station after his arrest today (May 17) on suspicion of possessing a firearm and he remains in custody.
Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
Police have urged for anyone with information to call them on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 4343/15MAY.
