A child is believed to have "fallen out of a moving car" on the M25 motorway near Romford.
Emergency services, including London Air Ambulance, were called to the A127 slip road near Junction 29 just before 11.30am this morning, after reports of an injured child on the road.
Essex Police told the Sun: "We are currently on the scene of an incident on the M25.
"Officers were called to the A127 slip road of the M25 near Junction 29 shortly before 11:30am following reports of a child being injured on the road.
"Air ambulance were in attendance and the child has been taken to hospital.
"Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"The slip road remains closed whilst officers are on the scene.
"Those in traffic are asked to remain in their vehicles for their own safety."
@HighwaysEAST reported that the M25 at Junction 29 clockwise exit slip was closed for a while "due to a collision" and that emergency services were at the scene.
National Highways Traffic Officers assisted with traffic management but there were delays of 35 minutes and approximately three miles of congestion.
Essex Police has been contacted.
London Ambulance Service have been contacted.
