Male in hospital after Chadwell Heath 'fight' stabbing

Police were called to High Road in Chadwell Heath to reports of a fight between two males on Saturday (May 6).

Emergency services attended shortly after 9.34pm and a man was found with stab injuries.

He was taken to an east London hospital and remains in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, Metropolitan Police have said.

One male, whose age has not been identified at this time, has been arrested and is in police custody.

Enquiries continue.

Just under three miles away, an 18-year-old man died after he was found with stab wounds near Dagenham Heathway Tube station on Friday (May 5) at 11.47pm.

Barking and Dagenham councillor Michel Pongo confirmed on Twitter that the victim was his nephew, Jordan.

Addressing the death online he said that Jordan’s mother is “inconsolable” and pleaded for gang members to “drop your knife and quit the gangster life before it is too late”.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A second man was taken to hospital with a stab injury following the incident. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Elsewhere in east London, 16-year-old schoolboy Rennell Charles was killed in a fatal stabbing in Markhouse Road, next to Kelmscott School in Walthamstow on Friday (May 5).

Metropolitan Police has said that a boy, 16, has been charged on Monday (May 8) with Renell’s murder.

He will appear in custody at Stratford Magistrates’ Court today (May 9).
